Here's a look at some big contracts still floating around Franchise NHL after 2yrs with a cap in the 60's and the Amensty Buyout in play to weed out inflated deals.
:NYR: Evander Kane, $9.0m (2012-2017) Exiled to Buffalo
:ANA: Dustin Byfuglien, $9.0m (2011-2016) Not completely out of line
:PIT-NHL: Shane Doan, $6.6m (2012-2016) Decline in scoring due to age Actually doing well! Crossing him off.
:PHO: Christian Ehrhoff, $6.0m (2011-2015) Not the same after Buffalo stint
* Ehrhoff got a lower extension from ARI for $2.7m (2015-2018)
:NAS: Marcus Folingo, $6.0m (2012-2016) Old legacy deal
:BUF-NHL: Pascal Dupuis, $6.0m (2014-2018) Hurt and hasn't earned this pay
* Dupuis got bought out then resigned by BUF for $4.4m (2014-2017)
:SJ: Mike Richards, $5.8m (2010-2018) In the AHL
* Mike got bought out before yr end, resigned by SJ to $5.1m 3yr deal, then given an Amnesty BO yr end for $2.0m (2014-2017)
:PIT-NHL: Ilya Bryzgalov, $5.5m (2014-2018) Added! Game has gone way South!

* Given a BO before the yr was up and signed as FA by MTL for $3.0m (2014-2017)
:OTT: Lars Eller, $4.7m (2013-2016) A bit inflated
* SJ threw a BO Eller's way and was an FA signing by SJ for $2.3m (2014-2017)
:VAN: Dustin Penner, $3.4m (2013-2016) Where is he anyways?
* Traded to CHI and handed a 1 yr BO for $4.5m (2014-2015)
List is much shorter than it has been in past yrs.

Its not a list until Ilya is on it! He even made the inaugural list @ 25, as he was highest paid player at one time (13.7m).

These guys all had their contracts reset
Parenteau costs 3.0m
Clarkson costs 3.0m
Eller costs 2.3m
Mike Richards still costs 5.1m :puke:
And Dupuis now costs 4.4m but is still injured! :doh:

Mike Richards is set to receive a 2014-15 Amnesty Buy Out!
His current deal is 5.1m for a 3yrs.
His ABO will cost 2.0m for the remainder of the deal through 2017.
Then he hits free agency in 2015. :thumbsup:
He'll be 30yo this offseason!

I'm hoping my guys kick it into gear. Hodgson will get a buyout from Buffalo, leaving him to sign with a better team. It would be great if he landed in Chicago, however he's not much of a two way player.
