I hate commenting when I am not in the TC but wow this hurts the Montreal franchise a lot I would say this is a detriment to the franchise but thats just my opinion

Why?

Confirmed. Instead of going through free agency I felt acquiring a value through trade would be best. Boyle is in the top 20 in slender and if harding can stay healthy can challenge to be a starter as backstrom is getting old. 1st is low and added to even out trade. Good to see price in a wild uniform.

Nay...Goalies are a prize in this league and Price is way way more valuable than a bucket of rusty nails.  400+ points last season...

I'm the 4th no. Price to valuable to the franchise considering the shape it's in..... Harding has had nothing but problems the last 2 years and is parked behind backstrom. The first round pick is a second almost and boyle is getting older and his role is going to be less with the arrival of burns.

We will try re-work this trade. What could I give more? We were thinking about adding Latendresse as well. What should we do?

I think for Price you would need to give up 1st line talent, at least.  Its 400 points of production a year...your best lineman gives only 200+.  I dunno, how you work it but I know this last one wasn't enough for me.

I hate this but come on Drew Look at what I had to give to get Price and you still said it wasn't enough and I gave way more then this.

remember at the time he only had 10 players it filled out his roster. I think my offer was 100 times better then a backup a late 1st round pick and a Dman that is going to retire next year

:iatp:  It leaves Montreal a Huge hole with no real compensation.  If they're looking to rebuild I would suggest they get great prospects and picks.  But serious NHL talent deserves serious compensation.  Otherwise I suggest he field offers for Price and offer him to everyone.  I never heard he was available...but I could have missed it as well.  Certainly market value would push his price up if others submitted offers for Price.

If Price is on the Market I will give a huge offer for him as it will set Florida up nicely in net

Don't get me started on that trade.

Talk about getting screwed over hard. Two members of the trade committee seem to have voted against this trade as they want a shot at Price.

Yes, but this was when free agency was open and Montreal could have picked up most of those players by bidding. I don't understand why the GM did not do so. He basically could have got most of those players and  keep Price. So you got him for nothing really. It was a good pick up for you. You also got Cammy in the trade.

Yes I could do the same as you and go out and sign a bunch of free agents and then send him for Price but that is bush league. How about you just don't talk about that trade anymore.

Nice try Drew...but I disapproved of the trade from the beginning, so I proposed that you should rework, you argued more and to prove my point I suggested that he field other offers.  I am definitely making one...it's not unethical.  It wasn't my intent for veto from the get go, and I couldn't veto it by myself either...so stop crying foul play.

If you look up into the chat I did say I would re-work. I came back here to see what was being said as it seemed theswede's mind had completely changed on the whole subject. I never said you didn't dissapprove the trade but coming out and saying theswede should start taking offers on Price instead of dealing with me because you and others didn't know he was available isn't the way a trade committee member should present himself on a trade.
BTW never once have I argued the trade in question, I have commented on Jesse's comments about a completely different trade but never made an argument on the trade.

I think this trade should be reworked as well.  Goalies in this scoring system are at a premium.

Again my answer is "no" to this trade.  It was close as was the previous, but Price needs a bit more to make this trade approvalable from me.

This is not the type of league were having here.  This will stop now!!

Again all involved in this in any form will recieve private messages and I will require acknowledgement that you've read the message.

Thanks,

Gilly
