Title: Discussion: Delay freeze date?
Post by: AntMan on September 19, 2020, 11:15:07 AM
Moved it back a few days to Sept 25th from the 22nd. The reason for the freeze is to allow us to roll over rosters to the 2020-21 season. PR & I need to the time to drop players and clean all 31 franchises.

Freeze is not a few days later starting Sept 25th. :judge:  Deadline Page updated.

Given the salary rule change now forthcoming and current pace of play for the supplemental draft I’d like to revisit the request to match the previous deadline. Kudos to those who are picking quickly and I understand trade considerations are sure to occur.

The commissioner clean up work is important but could in fact start prior to the freeze date. Ultimately that time was for owners and team management and I’d really like it back to ensure I can utilize my supplemental picks as intended. I just want to put the most competitive roster together for the league. Im on pace to lose a couple/few buyout and draft supplemental picks.

Seeking 10-2; sorry if I seem difficult. I’m competitive

Since we’ve already revised the freeze date once and Avs seem to be unique in this request to push back the date a second time we will leave dates as is relative to transaction freeze.

PR,

It doesn’t negatively impact any team and your date is not in line w/ standards. It makes zero sense why you’d posture against matching timelines.

While I disagreed with your compromise; I thought your 25th date might allow for the draft to complete but that’s highly unlikely with our pace.

No team has asked for you to move backwards the supplemental draft start and forward the freeze.

I’m all for more time between freeze and rollover as a valuable change. Like other changes it can start the following season. “After further review PLEASE reset the gameclock” - Ed Hochuli
