Title: Trade Committee Update
Post by: Flash on November 15, 2015, 09:23:29 PM
In a recent league-wide PM, I asked for volunteers for our Trade Committee because as most of you know, a couple of trades were ruled invalid because they received 1 vote or 0 votes.  There are a couple of variables affecting the FGM Trade Committee that have hindered it's operation.

First of all, Dan Wood, the :CHW: GM has requested he be removed from the Trade Committee.  He has his reasons for doing so, but suffice it to say, we all appreciated the time he has dedicated to our league as a member of the Trade Committee.  His insights have been invaluable and he is a respected member of the league.  Although he's no longer going to be on the Trade Committee, he is going to continue as the :CHW: GM.

Second, throughout ProFSL, there are a variety of leagues which are in the midst of inagural drafts, rookie drafts, or other pressing activities.  As many of you know, two of our TC members are actively involved in countless leagues as Commissioners, Transactions Monitors, or Board Moderators and sometimes, a league like ours, suffers because people can only do so much.

Third, we also have another TC member who is a longtime member who only visits the board sporadically.  As a longtime member, his involvment is certainly welcomed, but we all know it is going to be limited.

Fourth, we recently added two new TC members and they have been active, but one is involved in off-site activities that are a bit more pressing than FGM business and the other is also involved in multiple ProFSL leagues.

As a result of these factors, Rick, and I, have tried to come up with something that will work for the league.  We've bounced a few ideas off each other and neither of us want to take a militant stand and remove Trade Committee members who have dedicated a lot of time to being members of FGM.  That said, we have come up with the following as a remedy to our current situation and we are confident that we can move things forward.  As a volunteer league, the Trade Committee is something extra to do and, all of us know, sometimes it is a "thankless job".

Chris (chrisetc21) and Brian (indiansnation) have volunteered to become members of the Trade Committee.  With that we are going to reluctantly honor Dan Woods request and remove him from the Trade Committee.  We are also going to add Rick (BHows) to the Trade Committee.  The other Trade Committee members will be retained, and it is our hope, that we can again review and process trades in a timely manner with more GMs involved.

The FGM Trade Committee will be comprised of the following members:
Nick (NickF) :ATL:
Corey (Corey) :NYM:
Dave (tarheels55) :WAS:
Chris (Chrisetc21) :HOU2:
Brian (indiansnation) :COL:
Jonathan (jblum) :CIN:
Eric (Eric) :TB:
Rick (BHows) :LAD:
Ernesto (Flash) :SF:

We will be reposting the two recent trades that were invalidated and give them a new 48 hour time period because neither was given the proper review each was entitled to.  This is fantasy baseball and I hope all 30 GMs realize that FGM is for all of us and we believe that this remedy will help everyone in the league.

Who is currently on the TC?  It looks like some of the members below aren't in the league anymore.
