One of the best owners in Franchise NHL has "doubled down" to borrow PR's line! LOL
Johnny (also the owner the :WIN: Winnipeg Jets) has purchased the Islanders and will try to guide the franchise past the 1st round of the FNHL Playoffs. :toast:
The :NYI: Islanders have never missed the post-season in the 4yrs of the league's existence finishing 6th (2010-11), 16th (2011-12), 9th (2012-13) and most recently 13th (2013-14).
The team has a strong core of players that any owner would love to insert into their roster including
Valeri Nichushkin, $2.0m (2013-2016-EL)
Brandon Dubinsky, $3.4m (2015-2016)
Mika Zibanejad, $3.8m, (2013-2016)
Logan Couture, $5.8m (2013-2017)
Brent Seabrook, $6.3m (2014-2015)
Hampus Lindholm, $2.5m (2013-2016-EL)
Torey Krug, $0.2m (2012-2014) ... 5.9m (2014-2018)
That plus a stable featuring 6 goalies to start any given night.
The Islanders won't have much cap to work with however the team seems set to be ultra competitive again with a few moves during the offseason under new ownership to lead the team deeper into the playoffs. :toast: :win:
