approves this deal. I'm not a huge Crosby fan, but realize his worth.  I'm also not a huge fan of Raanta.

I get two nice young centers. Hopefully both or at least one can take another step forward next year. Holtby is the prize for me. Although the Caps have 2 young up and coming goalies in the AHL, Holtby has a good 3-4 years as an elite goaltender left.

Flyers agree. I traded Crosby to snug a few years ago for peanuts and it haunted me ever since having to look at that stupid banner for a year. I’m gambling that Raanta comes back healthy next year. Crosby is now in the wrong side of 30 but I’m confident his production will stay consistent.

Wow, nice deal overall.

Surprising to see Raanta traded without Kuemper by his side, but maybe Raanta wrestles that starting gig back next year. Who knows though, Kuemper was lights out 2nd half of this season and coming back from a big injury is always tough. But still, getting Sid lessens that blow especially at a cap hit of $5.4m a year.
Plus if Hart takes the net in Philly which he should, him plus Lehner, Mrazek and Raanta is good enough in the goaltending department.

Have to lol a bit as Philly can't stay away from those high priced centers, haha. Or maybe he just really really wants to win that Wayne Gretzky award, with now having Sid, Geno and Stammer.
