Title: Possible Schedule Change
Post by: chrisetc21 on October 17, 2016, 02:44:40 PM
Currently, we play a 22 game season with 9 of those games in division.  In other leagues I've seen up to 3 or 4 games played per week.  I think it would be a good change for the league to keep things a little more interesting, especially late in the season when teams are battling for playoff spots.

So rather than a 22 game season with 9 in division games.
We might play a 66 game season with 27 in division games.

Any thoughts?

I think in theory it's good but does that give enough time for a SP to make a start?  The SP scheduling could cause problems. I vote to just keep status quo.

I'm not sure what you mean.  Instead of playing one team a week, you'd play three or four.  Pitcher starts wouldn't be any different than they are now.

Oh my fault.... hmmm..... That seems like a good solid idea.  I misunderstood.

I like the idea.  I think the league will be more competitive and it gives an opportunity to play everyone in your league.  However, I think it would be good to see each team play the same number of games against division and league opponents.  For example, 7 x division = 28 + 3 x league = 30 + 8 interleague games or something like that.  If you need help with a schedule, I'd be willing to help.

Inter league doesn't make a lot of sense in the league unless it's one game against every team in opposite league.

I like 67 games
15 single interleague
2 intra league out of division = 20
8 intra division = 32

I am for it also. looks good but have to be the same number of game each week.
In other league I saw, for the same week, team playing 1 game, other playing 2 or 3, and at one point, teams already played 2 or 3 more game than others. When you take into consideration injury/peak of form concern, the schedule has to be the same for everyone.

I agree with the idea of schedule change to more games as well as long as it is done equitably.

It looks like Jeremy was able to build this schedule so this will be our schedule for the year.  Looks pretty awesome actually.  The last week of the season will be all division games so any team that needs to make up games to win the division will have a real shot to do it.

The scoring periods will remain 1 week long but we will be playing 3 games at a time instead of 1, except as Chrisetc mentioned the final week will be 4 division games.  The week before and after the All-Star break will be 1 day shorter with those days added to the week of the All-Star break.  I should have the schedule finalized this week sometime as I still have 4 or 5 weeks left to do.  Glad y'all like it.
