Title: Brewers/Cardinals deal 6-21-18 3:39 pm ET
Post by: RyanJames5 on June 21, 2018, 02:27:17 PM
:MIL: Receive:
Didi Gregorius 4(2021)
Kyle Seager 4(2018)
C.C. Sabathia 4(2018)
Blake Parker 3.5(2019)

:STL: Receive:
Tyler O'Neill .5(P-n/a)
Joey Lucchesi .5(P-n/a)
Luke Weaver .5(P-2020)

:STL: makes this deal to continue moving along on the rebuild.  I absolutely love what I receive in this deal.  I am badly in need of long term pieces on the mound and in the outfield.  Much of my minor league system is fairly far away.  While I can say I currently have 8 top 100 players, only 3 of them are in AA or higher, so adding some young cost controlled players to that group is huge.  Picking up a couple guys already in the majors and another that could be at any time, also keeps me from ending up with a roster that is completely void of current production.  The only piece that I considered a potentially long term piece was Didi and I'm hopeful that Adames is up for good and will eventually produce at a similar level to give me my replacement.  All 3 of Seager, Sabathia and Parker are very useful guys for someone in better shape than I am this season.  Thanks to :MIL: and good luck!

Brewers Confirm. We make this deal to get valuable pieces to help now, and in Didi's case, long term. Seager is a moderate re-sign at the end of the year as well. I have cap room to take on the salary. Sabathia and Parker help improve the staff in the short term.

As for what I am moving, I move from the depth of SP and OF that I have. O'Neill has crazy power, but he also strikes out a great deal and he seems partially blocked in STL. Weaver and Lucchesi seem to profile as middle of the rotation guys. I give up several years of control, but it gives me pieces who make me more competitive immediately.
