Hurricanes Trade:
Jared Boll, $0.2m (2017-2019)
D - Andrew Peeke (2016: 2/34 - 0 Games)

Canucks Trade:
Andrew MacDonald, $0.2m (2016-2018)

Not a trade I'm in love with but given my salary cap situation and the potential for Calvin De Haan to be out for a while, it's a trade that will help solidify(or at least put a band-aide on) an unremarkable blue line.

Canucks agree to the trade, lose that of MacDonald who put up decent D numbers this year but gaining that of Andrew Peeke an 2nd round Blue Jackets D prospect along with Jared Boll who mainly a roster and cap exchange.
This trade is mainly about improving the Canucks D prospect pool and the team in the long term, as still in rebuild transition for next 2 years.
