Same reason as before, I lose this trade now as Orlov is a beast and Schenn is a power forward, something that is a difference maker in this setup. I get Johnny to supplement Tkachuk. Tkachuk is the untouchable one on this team, as a power forward. I got them both to the better side of Alberta. Welcome to Oil country, boys. I get a future 1st as a wildcard for the talent/quality drop from Orlov to Mcnabb and picks. Overall, a trade that benefits both Pacific clubs.

I believe that we are not open to trading picks in future years drafts, therefore this deal does not seem valid to me.

I am opening to being corrected on the rule, but at this point I disapprove of the deal.

Edmonton has removed the 2017 Pick from the deal and this is set to be processed post 2017 draft.

I guess I wasn't sure you were going to get approvals with a potential 1st overall next year being in the fold on what looked like an even player swap

I don't like the trade for SJ but don't feel it's veto worthy.

I think EDM was already getting the better end of the deal player wise(arguable of course) why SJ had to throw in a likely top 5 pick in next year's draft is a mystery but you have to build your team how you see fit.

Completely agree, well said Carolina

SJ is a hyperactive manager so many moves will follow, with FA acquisitions that could be a late first.

like i said previous im a big fan of both players im getting they both are young players 25 yrs old im adding them with ellers, byron, max domi, thorton. yes i my have over payed but im looking at right know. yes a 1st rd pick is pretty exspensive but if i do my work right in the minors i can find sleeper picks down in the draft using what picksi have left.

Agree with what PR said. So this trade will sit and wait with the other trade that involves a 2018 Draft Pick.

That is fine. This trade doesn't impact anything but 1.2m savings for SJ and they can use it via the offseason overage.
