:BUF-NHL:  trades X-C/RW Jason Spezza, RFA, $0m this year

for  :WAS-NHL: C Mathieu Perreault, $4.2m (2018-2019)

I was not planning to resign Spezza (too expensive) and I have enough cap space to take him. I assume that Spezza will go back to FA very soon

Washingon confirms

Past free agent spending sprees have caught up to me and I had to move a player for cap space. Thanks for the easy deal.
