Title: 10% Overage on Cap (Off-Season)
Post by: PigsRule on August 19, 2013, 10:55:15 PM
Per my PM to all owners...

The standard practice in FNHL during the off-season has been a 10% overage allowance on the cap.

So if winning a free agent puts your team's salary over the 2013-14 cap of 64.3m but doesn't exceed the 70.7m overage limit, you are fine until the 1st game of the regular season.

You do realize giving teams more cap to play with is like handing them more rope to hang themselves. At least for some guys. LOL

Given the salary cap dropped significantly from 70.3m to 64.3m it's good for all teams to have extra cap to make the needed adjustments they need for the upcoming season.

Also keeps FA bidding interesting. That's the principle of free market economics.

:bump:  reminder to all... but make sure if you go over the cap to get back within the 64.3m cap before the transaction freeze period.

you all know where to check league deadlines. :judge:

Also remember, teams can use the 10% salary overage during the off-season but need to have sufficient roster spots available to sign players (ie. cannot exceed 30 MLR spots).

Time for teams using the 10% off-season FNHL overage allowance to figure out how to get under the 2013-14 FNHL cap ceiling of 64.3m...

And again, there's a Transaction Freeze coming end of day September 25th.
