I feel my championship window is still open. I tried getting MadBum a year or so ago but wasn’t available. I need pitching upgrades and he fits perfect.

The Giants aren’t the same without MadBum, but now he’s a D-Back, so my homer mentality can no longer look past the obvious.  Since 2014, when he was at his peak, he has slowly started to decline.  Granted, he had two seasons interrupted by freak injuries, but he’s no longer the dominant force of yesteryear.  The HR totals have crept up every year since 2014 and the ERA is creeping up too.  He has had some dominant games at AT&T, but has gotten hammered on the road.  Now, as a D-Back, AT&T is not his home park, so it’s hard to predict how successful he will be.

There’s no doubt he is still a viable fantasy SP, and will help the Phillies, but sometimes it’s better to trade a player while they are still valued.  I hate thinking of him on another team, both in MLB and FGM, but his departure gives the Giants two very promising prospects in Will Wilson and Blayne Enlow.  As for Hunter Pence, who knows what’s left in the tank, but he’s on an expiring minimum contract and had a productive 2019 season, so he can be seen as a low risk/possible high reward player.

I think both teams got players who can help them. I hope MadBum does well, except when he plays the Giants.

While I approve the deal,  , I believe Flash has essentially sold his soul. MadBum is arguably my favorite pitcher and to see an avid Giants fan throw him to the side is heart breaking. I Flash's love for Bum, but I approve this deal
