When can a team apply the buy out discount on a player is releases? Can the discount be used more than once if the bought out player gets a buy out from the second team then signed as a free agent by a third team?

Any clarification would be appreciated.

Rules have changed over time, but you can currently buy out a player (you cant bid on them) and receive a discount if someone else gives them a contract.

On our team pages we have 2017 Draft Picks listed. Are we also able to use 2018 Draft Picks or are they off limits? Thanks for your help in getting a better understanding of what is available to my GM for use in trades.

The reason we avoided unlocking draft picks 2yrs out was to prevent owners from mortgaging the future... that was important during the Free for All period of FNHL. Still kind of true for this era of Pay to Play because we dont want owners to empty the team's Draft Pick coffers which devalues teams if they ever need to be sold.

Finally, less administration to manage when you allow 1yr's worth of picks to be in-play.

For clarity, when it comes to buyout discounts where a player I buyout gets signed as a FA by another team, I only get to claim the first instance that player gets picked up correct? Or can I apply for another discount if he gets bought out and resigned again?

Don't want to miss out on any advantage I can get access to.

Only the 1st instance of a player being signed can be applied as a buyout discount.

When is the deadline to post buyouts under this years cap numbers?  I have a plans to clean house a bit but want to wait as long as I can to see if there are any callups.
