Title: Chicago Buffalo blockbuster
Post by: favo_zomg on January 29, 2018, 10:33:18 PM
Buffalo sends:
Roberto Luongo, $5.0m (2019-20)
Colton Sissons, $0.7m (2017-18)
Remi Elie, $0.9m (2018-19)

for

Chicago sends:
Nicholas Paul, $0.5m (2017-18)
Noah Hanifin, $2.0m (2017-18)
IR - Steve Mason, $4.8m (2017-18)
:CHI-NHL: Round 2
:BUF-NHL: Round 4

what a deal! I'm not looking to be winning anytime soon, so all of the pieces I am moving, including a starting goalie, will not help me now. I fully believe that Luongo will come back strong, but I'm planning for the future. Hanifin is the pin that makes this whole deal work, as he becomes the cornerstone of my defense. Mason will be brought out to help give me cap space. I believe Paul will get more opportunities once Ottawa clears its glut of old guys. And the picks will help me out long term.

Great dealing with you again, Vik.

To make this deal legal, we will buy out Mirco Mueller all this season, and move Nick Schmaltz and Brandon Montour to IR replacement under Patrick Eaves.

Accept. Another big deal with the Sabers as I once again send some pieces for their rebuild to improve my chances this year. Was looking into Luongo for a while, though he was not my first choice the way to goalies go for in this league I will take a chance, hopefully he can come back strong and with Reimer now injured they will need him. I like hanafin and he is only scratching the surface of what he can do, but he was 1 piece I was willing to move to get much needed help at goalie.

Once approved, I will Sign Jeff Glass rest of the year. I will also keep Sissons and and Elie in the minors for now and then I have more than enough room to finally sign Hainsey for the rest of the year.
