Title: Steelers release James Harrison
Post by: Mariner on March 09, 2013, 01:41:39 PM
The Pittsburgh Steelers have released LB James Harrison. Harrison was the 2008 defensive player of the year but injuries have slowed him down the past couple of years. He is also 34 and would of been a $10 million cap hit which all contributed to him being released.

GM Kevin Colbert released this written statement.

"We have informed James Harrison that we have released him. James has been an integral part of our success during his years in Pittsburgh and has helped us win two Lombardi trophies during that time. We appreciate all of his efforts and wish him the best."

Harrison posted this on twitter

It's been a great run but all good things must come to a end. Thank you Steelers Nation I will miss you all!

The Steelers will have big shoes to fill with the release of #92.
