Can we bring this back up? I worry we're falling behind by letting these go unanswered.

I joined this site with the opportunity to take a team and build it to win a league. After that win, qualify for the Invitationals.

Sadly, those were dropped in favor of money leagues. We need to go back to the invitationals. If you want a money league, go to that other site.
Be looking for these to come back for the 2017 seasons!!!

MLB - March 2017
NFL - August 2017
NHL - September 2017
NBA - September 2017

ok ok, this is a serious one.  Not much of a fan of our chat box, especially when I compare it to the functionality and ease of the chat box on Fantrax.

1) I like league specific chat boxes.  (not necessary but its nice sometimes)
2) being able to Private message  a user is pretty sweet when trying to bang out a trade vs. having to use the email system.
3) being able to see who is and who isn't online makes for a much more inviting chat.  a lot of times I look and notice that hey jeff is online, let bang out a trade. jeff.
Basically my gist of the post is take a look at the fantrax chat box and that is what we should be striving for on ours with regards to functionality.

Now something that is probably going to be a fair bit harder to fix .... I will be honest , i run my own 16 team dynasty league and I run it completely through fantrax. I use their forums and everything.  Not because their forums are better but mainly because I hate flip flopping between two different sites and by paying for a premium league most of my duties as a commissioner are automated or GMS can do themselves (extensions/contract rollovers/no duplicate work ie dont have to drop a player on fantrax and on profsl).  I know there was an effort in the past to create a scoring system within Profsl and I really believe that's where the future is and would drive more loyalty and revenue.  But if you do it, it would need to be done right , robust scoring systems with advanced commissioner features.  Basically what I am suggesting is instead of Profsl acting as a complement or an offshoot to fantrax , you should go in direct competition with them.

AS a commissioner I am more than willing to pay 60 to 100 a year that I do to have the conveniences and huge time savings it brings me.
Chat boxes for each league
- I believe if we could do this but not sure how. It could hinder the functionally and speed of the site though as I know they would use lots of data to run.

Private message(chat) integration
- This was a feature we had before, it use to be on the bottom of the site and always there. I believe you had to add people and they had to accept your add before you could chat but definitely something that could be looked at adding back again.

Show who is online
- This is actually already a feature but not accessible from everywhere. If you go to the main forum page (http://www.profsl.com/smf/) and scroll to the bottom you can click on the link in the users online part you can see exact who is on right now.
http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?action=who

ProFSL Scoring System
- As you stated, this was attempted before. The system we had worked but wasn't functional enough to satisfy our high level leagues. I am unsure on costs but I know this was a costly process to do and would have to have serious backing to be attempted again. As for flipping back and forth between scoring system and ProFSL, I don't really have an issue as I would be doing it with a ProFSL scoring system unless it was integrated directly into your league page. Obviously something we will look at but at this point probably not the support to approach it yet.

Helpdesk will be reopened soon and managed! Hopefully the staff we are putting together can help out and fix any problems that commissioners may have.

Hopefully this information I provided will answer some questions and give some direction of where the site is headed!

That is how many you need to get anyones attention  :o

I've offered help and I'm sure others as well. Founder doesn't seem too interested in making it any better than it currently is.

More hockey leagues here than Basketball and Football combined.

  • WestCoastExpress: Iza - nah I’m just good at drafting. 10-team league. Got lucky with Brown/Schwartz and also Vas (he was my 3rd goalie haha). Also Karlsson dropped to round 2 because of his injury. Took Burns/EK 1-2 picks haha. Followed by Duby/Rask. Pavelski was my first forward taken lol

  • WestCoastExpress: Also got lucky with Giroux falling. Love when Yahoo ranks players lower than they should. Lots of guys rely too heavily on the Yahoon ranks! Brown’s been a home run tho, he was close to a last round pick

  • izaman3: I like to look and laugh at yahoo's rankings, and even fantrax's projections. I almost wish they would just stop lol. Brown's resurgance has been key for the Kings. I know people have been complaining about his contract for years. I'm also a big Giroux fan, so I like him lighting it up on the wing. Though I sold low on Courtier earlier this year in FNHL and am half starting to kick myself and half skeptical that he keeps it up.

  • WestCoastExpress: So should I accept this Kuch for Vasilevskiy deal? Think I’ll be alright with Duby/Helly holding the G stats down, along with Rask/Anderson? Realistically it’s kind of silly to have 5 goalies. 4 is a lot too if they’re all starters. Scooped Helly from FA for free tho :)
