Mark Vientos (spec)
AJ Minter (spec-2021)

Baltimore makes this deal to try and solidify the bullpen as we like Minter’s upside. I feel like Beer and Vientos upside is comparable but Beer’s inability to stay healthy and lack of a true defensive position give me pause, plus outfield depth is one area of surplus I can deal from.

I didn’t expect to move the guys I am but when an offer gets put on the table like this I have to reevaluate. My team is in a rebuild and I’m not going to get the caliber of guys in FA that I am here. I’m mortgaging long term cap but again I can’t get or win these type of guys in free agency.
