:SD: agrees to this deal to expand our talent base. Much as we love Greene, his clock has started but we're nowhere near contention and his talent can be better used to replenish our system.

Braves are looking to add a young bat to pair with Frelick in the OF and Greene has a good bit of upside left. Braves hate seeing Mayer go but the Braves are looking to make moves to acquire more young MLB talent.
