Title: Colorado and Detroit Trade (effective April 8)
Post by: izaman3 on April 03, 2018, 10:44:07 PM
To Colorado
Matt Martin, $6.1m (2015-2019)
SDP Round 1 - 2018  (from :SJ:*)

To Detroit
Jeff Carter, $8.0m (2017-2022)

Detroit actually wants to add more Supp picks, so this trade is a tad away from my current plans/strategy, but scorers like Carter don't grow on trees. Even at 33, he still puts up the points and I don't expect that to stop for another couple of years. Maybe picking up a guy like Carter will make it easier to listen some of the initial offers that I've gotten for Pacioretty and make it so I actually trade him this offseason

Thanks for the deal Colorado  :toast:

Colorado confirms the trade

We’ll see if Martin has any gas left and add a supplemental.

I will give the edge to Colorado for shedding some salary while maintaining their productivity.

:iatp: Carter finds a new home! He can still play but that's a big cap hit.
