* Division Champion.
# Defeated Pacific Div. Champion Edmonton Oilers.

Round 3 FNHL Conference Final matchups loaded into Fantrax.

I've included :BOS-NHL: vs :CAR-NHL: AND :MON-NHL: vs :CAR-NHL: because the 0.1pt difference is hot off the press and could still change one way or another with NHL scoring updates overnight.

WESTERN CONFERENCE PREVIEW
:LAK: (3-PAC) VS :NAS:* (1-CEN/Higher Ranked Div Champ)

Head-to-Head in 2017-18: Predators 3 - Kings 1
Wk1 Preds 77.8 def. Kings 63.35
Wk5 Kings 96.7 def. Preds 84.4
Wk9 Preds 132.35 def. Kings 118.35
WK17 Preds 188.35 def. Kings 110.6

:LAK: Kings lead the Pacific Division for the first 1/2 of the season, then began to free fall sliding into 3rd in the Pacific. With new owner Godzilla in place since late November 2017, LA has seen a number of players move on and new faces slotted into the lineup for the postseason drive. Round 2 scoring standout Evander Kane (17.65pts) was acquired from Philadelphia at the trade deadline while Franchise Players Drew Doughty (11pts) and Jonathan Quick (25pts) continue to set the pace the way Franchise Players should topping :STL-NHL: in Round 2. Chara (10.35pts) and Tristan Jarry (16.25pts) helped LA get past FNHL Vegas :LV: in Round 1.

:NAS: Predators traded places with Chicago Blackhawks all season leading the Central Division finishing 1st when the regular season wrapped up. Veteran FNHL owner Burkes Boys has built a formidable roster but can his goaltenders John Gibson and Frederik Andersen stay health enough to get Nashville into the FNHL Finals? Young Guns JT Miller (12.75pts) and Arturri Lehkonen (12.75pts) helped power the Preds past the powerful :COL-NHL: Colorado Avalanche in Round 2 while Jamie Oleksiak (11.7pts), Brayden Point (7.0pts) and Franchise Goalie John Gibson (17pts) pushed them past FNHL Dallas :DAL-NHL: in Round 1.

Nashville holds the edge in this matchup based on the strength of their goaltending and scoring.

I can't say I'm not surprised that :LAK: Kings have made it to Round 3 because I am a little shocked after LAK slid out of 1st place in the Pacific Div and kept losing weekly getting shutout several weeks in a row if I recall. Of curse they have the foundation of a great team having won back to back FNHL titles in 2014-15 & 2015-16. :win::win:

Bruins and Nashville (easily)

Either team vs. Nash will be a great 2 week match-up.

Thinking Carolina vs Nashville in the FNHL Finals.

:CAR-NHL: Carolina was unstoppable all season. After that scare in Rd1 I don't see many obstacles.

:BOS-NHL: Boston will have their work cut out for them in this rd. They rolled with Rask and Talbot last yr but have no real 1B goalie this yr.

:LAK: LA might not have the guns to keep up and will need lots of luck again like with Colorado in Rd 2 last wk.

:NAS: Nashville is poised to raise reach the finals but if they run into goalie health issues again like they have recently the series will be much closer than they'll want.

5:30pm ET I think that's all she wrote for FNHL Montreal. A round 2 loss to division rival Boston by 0.1pt will go down in history as the worst playoff loss in FNHL.

Bruins vs Canes for the Eastern Conf Championship.

EASTERN CONFERENCE PREVIEW
:BOS-NHL: (3-ATL) VS :CAR-NHL: (1-MET/Presidents' Trophy )

:CAR-NHL: HURRICANES dominated FNHL's regular season leading from start to finish. They reached the Conference Finals with a convincing win (:CAR-NHL: 142.55 - :NYR: 121.7) versus 3rd place Metropolitan rivals :NYR: Rangers lead by the performances of Mikko Rantanen (14.75pts), Wayne Simmonds (12.25pts) and Brandon Montour (11.8pts), Vladimir Sobotka (11pts) and the outstanding goaltending of Sergei "Bob" Bobrovsky's 25.0pts. In Round 1, Canes handed WildCard team :WAS-NHL3: Washington Capitals a L with Sean Monahan (8.55pts), Nikolaj Ehlers (8.5pts), Mikko Rantanen (8.3pts) and limited goaltending support from either Bob or Cory Schneider.

:BOS-NHL: BRUINS reach the FNHL's Conference Finals with a stunning come from behind victory over the Atlantic Division Champions, :MON-NHL: Montreal. On the last day, in the last game of the evening, JackDaniel's Boston team rallies to overtake Mordecai's Canadiens by the slimmest of margins, 0.1 points. Boston is however the defending FNHL Champion from 2016-17 so it should be much of a surprise he returns to the Final Four in 2017-18. Bruins' David Pastrnak (13.55pts) and Erik Karlsson (12.25pts) lead Boston through Round 2 with rookie defender Vince Dunn posting a whopping 6.0pts on the final day of the week. Boston eliminated another tough division rival, :DET-NHL: Detroit RedWings in Round 1 with strong performances from Pastrnak (12.5pts), Kevin Hayes (8.25pts) and Tory Krug (8.55pts). Bruins may get a boost with the possible return of Franchise Player Partrice Bergeron who's been out since Feb 26th.

Carolina is a the favourite to move onto the FNHL Finals next week with a likely win versus the defending FNHL Champion Bruins.

Tough matchup against the Canes. But that's why the Conf Finals are for the big boys. :toast:

I think the :LAK: LA Kings are done in the 2018 FNHL playoffs. Too much to overcome with only 1 day left to play. :NAS: Preds were beasts in Round 3.

Jack thanks for a Great series. Out of all the teams I could have played out of the Atlantic, Boston was the team I feared the most. I was nervous going into tonight despite the big lead because of all those Fricking Bruins you have! The out come could have been much different with a couple more Bruin goals.

I'm sure you will be back next year especially with the NHL Bruins being so good!

Can't say I'm not disappointed falling short of a return to the FNHL Finals but bowing out to the top team makes it sting less.

Well run team over in Carolina. Canes deserve to play for the Championship this year. :toth:

LA Kings had a rough finish to the season but they had a helluva run in the playoffs. Godzilla did some nice work with that team.:thumbsup:
