Caps get:

D- Justin Schultz $3.3M 2017

Blues get:

Round 2 - 2017
Round 2 - 2017  looks like Colorado's pick

Blues already have 3 D we want to protect so it helps both of us.

Caps last year, traded OEL for Landy and Boeser at the trade deadline. That opened up a spot for us to eventually make this move. I am just hoping Schultz stays in Pitt and doesn't make a huge regression (point wise) after I hand him a big contract like OEL going from #3 to #52. Numbers don't lie though, Schultz broke out to the tune of #10 overall D man. I am certainly happy to be able to add him and be able to protect him. This gives me 2 guys in top 20 last year with Suter.

Oh the irony of FNHL Caps adding a Penguin ahead of game 7. Go Caps!

Justin was going to test Free Agency so to acquire some draft picks is a good trade for Jonathan. Capitals are going to build the Blueline around Slavin.
