I'm thinking about putting together a comprehensive review of all our previous drafts to see which team has drafted the best. I've mentioned this before, but I think after 5-6 drafts it will have some weight to be interesting.
My question is does anyone care to see the results or should I think of something else to pursue?

If you have the time :iatp:

I was actually thinking about doing this to since I think the results would be interesting. Let me know if you want some help compiling the data.
-
I was hoping you would put something together. You did this once before, a couple years ago. So maybe some of your work is already done?
I'm definitely interested. I routinely trade away youth, so I'm interested to see how my draftees have panned out as a whole.

It would be nice to set it up where it could be easily updated each year with the additional point totals for players and then the results could be posted.

Here's what you put together in 2014: http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=168506.0

But those results included Supplemental draft picks that weren't prospects. I kinda think the active NHLers should have been excluded.

I think it would be interesting to track just the supplemental draft results and not have the contraction draft included. Also I think it would be interesting to see the results split up based on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds along with average points per pick. Some teams (Florida, Buffalo, etc.) have loaded up on draft picks in a few of the drafts which makes the overall totals hard to compare. Average points per pick and by round seem like a good way to judge how well a person has used there picks.

This may be helpful for your research:
Teams that have moved:
:VAN: Vancouver Canucks - were :FLO: Florida Panthers from 2013 to 2016 and were :SJ: San Jose Sharks from 2011 to 2013.
:NYR: New York Rangers - were :VAN: Vancouver Canucks from 2011 to 2016.
:CLG: Calgary Flames - were :DAL-NHL: Dallas Stars from 2011 to 2013.
:LV: Vegas Golden Knights - were :PHO: Arizona Coyotes from 2013 to 2016 and were :WIN: Winnipeg Jets from 2012 to 2013 and were :CLG: Calgary Flames from 2011 to 2012.

I was going to ask for the history of the team switches, so thank you.
I already kind of have it outlined I just need to get all the point totals for the players. I am going to split it up into 3 groups; Contraction Draft, Keepers, and Supplemental. Then I can get totals from there as well as an average points produced per pick.
I need to look into the historical production of drafted players, but I'm going to put a weighted factor onto the pick location. So a #1 pick should produce a bunch of points so their production isn't weighted, but a round 3 guy is basically a gem and his production will be multiplied by some amount I've yet to calculate.
