cleveland sends giancarlo stanton to the giants for: starlin castro ^ a 3rd round amateur draft pick
-
:SF: confirms and accepts this trade. This was a tough decision for me, as Castro is a top, young player at a very difficult position to fill. Fortunately, we have Didi Gregorius to fill the position.Losing a 3rd rounder effects our draft somewhat, but we feel this move is necessary.
We are in much greater need for OF help. Crisp can't seem to stay healthy this year, and we lose him as well as Torres after this season which leaves us very thin at OF. Stanton will fill the RF position for us long term.
Castro and Stanton both have several years remaining on their contracts as well.
Thanks Firemanx for working this trade with us.

Cleveland has come to these terms & agreed to them we hate to lose Stanton, but the need for us @SS far outweighs the production Stanton has not been producing the 3rd rounder lets us find a suitable young OFer plus gives us another trade chip to use

Its been way over 48 hours and no vetoes. I assume that we can call this trade APPROVED!
-
who processes it?
-
who processes it?
You need to talk to Kenny. I don't have access to the AL. Sorry guys.
-
dont we have the ability to do our own transactions? so you should be able to do the drop and the pick up....correct?
-
Should be able to do your own. Taken care of in AL now though.
-
I added Stanton and dropped Castro in Fantrax. You can now add Castro to your roster.
-
After all that I offered for Stanton you all allowed him to be traded for Starling Castro?
A light-hitting SS for a slugger like Stanton? How is this trade better than the one you all vetoed that I offered to the Indians?
In-fact, the trade you all vetoed is the offer the Indians made to me, not the other way around.
