Franchise NHL / Re: FNHL Standings '18-19: After 18wks
« on: February 13, 2019, 04:10:36 PM »
Edmonton should be the most improved. After winning the division by 1 game and finishing 42-40, lets just say we've created a gap with a 52-18 start. I'd say the biggest reason was to actually have a solid plan, add a bunch of young guys and build it up and be patient with the plan. There might not be a GM who has made less moves over the last 2 yrs.
As much as I want to build through the draft and some deals, that feels like it would take more patience than I have in me. HAHA

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Sharks/Canadiens
« on: February 12, 2019, 12:54:05 PM »
Traded to Sharks
Radek Faksa, $2.0m (2017-2020)

Send to Canadiens
Brenden Dillon, $2.9m (2017-2020)

This trade addresses our need up front. We feel Faksa is having a down year like the rest of the Dallas Stars. Really like the player we're getting as we continue to shape our organization. Montreal to confirm.

San Jose is in the market for some scoring help. We will continue making calls around the league.

San Jose wants to get closer to the pack in the Pacific. I feel we're a few players short of locking up a Wildcard spot after a slow start to the season.

:SJ: San Jose will take offers on Blake Coleman, $7.0m (2018-2022)

This guy will be a difference maker on your team. Won't come cheap!
You can plug Coleman in at Center, LW or RW. He posts 2.33 points per game on average.

Blake's best described as a
Top 20 C
Top 15 LW
Top 15 RW

Hit me up boys!

Franchise NHL / Re: FNHL on what site in 2019-20?
« on: January 18, 2019, 09:46:50 PM »
I've been in a baseball league that was setup using Google drive and Google sheets. Not hard to transfer this setup to that. Might not look as pretty but it would be functional and with Google sheets you would have Salary tallied automatically if you organize it like you would in an Excel spreadsheet.

AHL fodder. Puempel has passed through the watchful gaze of 5-6 different NHL coaching staffs and hasn't impressed any of them to stick around the NHL. What does that tell us all?!!
:iatp: Couldn't agree more. The truth is attitude counts for a lot in pro sports and no team wants a player who's going to bad mouth an organization or the league. Best to bury those types in the minors.

Franchise NHL / Re: FRANCHISE NHL TEAM VALUES
« on: January 06, 2019, 06:36:59 PM »
The general health of this league is very good imo. Having 31 teams, there are bound to be the "haves" and "have nots". I think franchise values are slightly higher than the original post states with a basic buy-in at $125-$150.

Franchise NHL / Re: FNHL Stars Owner Fully Supports Seguin
« on: January 04, 2019, 08:39:59 PM »
I thought the NHL Stars CEO showed a lack of respect for his own organization by calling out the captain. The statement should've been a little more vague and hinted at leaders stepping up.

  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.

  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    Today at 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.

  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development

  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
    Today at 06:02:39 PM
  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
