Title: Ducks/Blackhawks Trade
Post by: Vik on December 28, 2019, 05:51:41 PM
Ducks trade:

Devan Dubnyk, $7.4m (2021-22)
Matt Villalta, N/C (0 games)
:ANA: Round 3

Blackhawks Trade:

Joe Pavelski, $5.5m (2019-20)
Ryan Reaves, $1.4m (2020-21)
Mathieu Perreault, $1.2m (2019-20)

Can never have enough depth at goalie so even though the contract is rough and has dealt with injuries lately I'm taking at shot on Dubnyk. Pavelski simply not producing this year and since I couldnt move him just for cap space/youth his deal makes sense.

:ANA: DUCKS confirm this trade. Heck, I hate losing and being 1-11 to start this season it is time to shake up my team so I can compete with the rest of league this year and hope for better start in 2020-21. Plans to make additional roster moves to follow as injuries too, have been a sword in my side all season long. Thanks Vik and good luck.

 :veto:

This deal seems a little too lop-sided in Chicago's favor for me. Plus as it stands, Chicago is already at the goalie limit of 3, so I wouldn't be able to process this deal without another move.

Let's hear from some more GMs.

I thought deal was fair given Dubnyk's up and down and injury plagued season plus the fact he is on a massive contract.

My assumption was it would pass so made corresponding moves, however, miss read rules on Anderson so that's on me. Got another move that makes everything legal but at this point need to know verdict here before posting it.

sorry to veto, but starting goalie is still gold and picks are golden gems in this league, and dubnyk is a 1st choice despite  he's performance this season. and also putting round 3 pick and villalta with dubnyk which is a goalie makes even more lopsided (its just my opinion), the 3 players in exchange for dubnyk are good but i feel you can get even more than them .

Is what is it is here, I might not agree but respect the voting process just a little surprised. Ducks were saving 6m and 7.4m in the next 2 year yearly respectively which is very valuable here. He also wanted some skaters so this deal made sense for both.

My only real issue here is the time it took to get a verdict, I know it's holiday season but around 10 days makes it tough for additional moves. I anticipated this would pass and made moves which now technically made my roster illegal. Can't do much to change this but will post to ensure roster is legal going forward.
