A three year contract has a maximum amount of $5.0m. A $9.0m extension can be either two years or four years, but cannot be for three years.
It is either CI Moustakas, Mike, $9.0 (2020) or CI Moustakas, Mike, $9.0m (2018). What is your pleasure?
JJ Hardy's 70% contract is actually $4.2m, but we deal in increments of $0.5m. Normally we would round down if we have an amount of $0.2m, but then the extension would not meet the 70% requirement, so the contract must be: MI Hardy, J.J., $4.5m (2018)

This is not true. In the contract part of the rulebook there are maximum and minimum values. Item AIX C-1.0 in the rules lists the max limits that contracts can be. These limits control the maximum length a contract can be for based on the value. Item AIX C-2.0 lists the minimum extension lengths for certain extension values. These limits control the minimum length a contract extension can be. The max for a $9m year contract is 4 years and the minimum extension length is 2 years based on the minimum contract length. A $9m contract can be 3 years because 3 years is less then the maximum length and above the minimum extension length.

Except for any contract inherited in 2009, all contracts must be no longer than six years. Also, for a given salary, all contacts have term limits (max years contract can be per the salary) as provided below.
<= $1m, 2 years
$1.5m - $5m, 3 years
$5.5m - $10m, 4 years
> $10m, 5 years (the overall limit)

Contract extensions follow the contract maximum lengths as shown above as well as their own minimum standards.
$20m+ - 5 years
