The Free agent pool is like an Ethiopian desert!!
Pick up the phone and call your trade buddy if you want to land the right players for your team. I
Nothing is going to come easy in this league.
Like I said you got to work for it gents! :toast:

Quit your yapping and accept my trade offer! :agent: :toast:

Mine too PPG!

With the new rules, teams are forced to trade more. Now, no player will ever be bought out, unless they are useless to the team.

Underachieving overpaid players will continue to be bought out.

The toughest thing is the lack of free agents you can go and sign anytime in this deep league.
You either trade for what you want or draft what you need and wait for it to mature.

Which for me at least adds an element of realism. Our FA pool almost mirrors what would be available to actual NHL franchises.
Keeper leagues should be deep & the FA pool should resemble the Sahara Desert. You shouldn't be able to just pick up an impact FA or field a team full of superstars.
This is why I cant do 24 team leagues or the like. Not knocking anyone elses fantasy experiences or desires but I like the road to the Championship to be as challenging as possible & I want to go up against GMs that leave no stone unturned.
That's just my 2 cents. I like this stuff. :toast:

Well said, Daddy. The fact you own the 4th ranked team gives your statement more weight.

Not always based on number of teams in a league but setup. I am currently in a 16 team league that has had less signings and far more trades than this league. Not knocking this league as it is managed well. Just saying league setups can effect the experience.

Trades are good but if you just want to trade, join a 1yr league deep roster league, mix in a bunch of Gilly types and there you go. Forget that. Just have a league with that last ingredient and you're set. LOL

Nah, its not a 1 yr league, still capped, with contracts, extensions the whole bit but it is a different setup than anything I have yet to see on Prosfl. Biggest difference would be extensions dont use the rankings system but are a hard $amount per year extended so even the best players become too expensive to extend eventually but that also creates a system where playoff teams can trade for rental players. Makes for a lot of activity at trade deadline.
Add to that that you cant sign any player thats minors eligible (25 yrs old or younger/80games played or less) with deeper rosters and you would be surprised how much that limits your FA pool. The off-season FA frenzy is a heck of a lot of fun too because there is usually at least 10 big names/points producers to be bid on.
Depends on what you are looking to get out of your leagues. I enjoy the challenge factor of this 30 team league but I also enjoy the fun factor of the other setup as its a blend of a yearly/keeper and dynasty league in one.
