Somehow I doubt the NHL's salary cap ceiling will be decreasing anytime soon. FNHL needs to revisit the extension values to be implemented for the 2020-21 season.

I almost feel the need to veto this trade if only because St. Louis is creating a roster that will not produce much resistance to opponents after trading the majority of their productive players to Carolina and Colorado. If that is the goal of the Blues owner to rebuild through youth, then :iatp:

I will have to agree with Burkes Boys' analysis. This trade is based on potential and it will be difficult to measure for another year or two at least.

The scoring balances out on this trade however I would be inclined to give the edge to Montreal for getting a little younger.
