Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / San Jose/BUF Trade
« on: April 12, 2018, 11:38:28 AM »
:SJ: receives
RW Ryan Callahan, $3.8m (2017-2020)
C Daniel O'Regan, $0.2m (2016-2018)
C David Desharnais, $0.9m (2017-2019)
RW Ty Rattie, $1.1m (2017-2019)
LW - Nicolas Kerdiles (2012: 2/36 - 3 Games)  GP updated Nov 27/17
D - Duncan Siemens (2011: 1/11 - 1 Games)
Round 3 - 2018  (from :CLG:*)

:BUF-NHL: receives
D Tyson Barrie, $6.5m (2016-2020)

We got a several PMs about Barrie and felt this package gave us depth and more to work with in rebuilding our franchise. We're not done making and taking trade calls.

75
:SJ: receives
RW Corey Perry, $6.6m (2017-2021)

:MIN-NHL: receives
C Bryan Little, $5.7m (2015-2019)  qualifies for a $1.8m extension

I asked for Perry because we heard he wanted to play on the West Coast. Little wanted to cold weather of Minnesota. Done deal. Wild will also get a deep, and I mean deep discount on a new contract extension when Little gets extended for $1.8m.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / San Jose/Vancouver Trade

:SJ: receives
G Garret Sparks, $1.9m (2016-2019)

:VAN: receives
LW Kirill Kaprizov, $1.6m (2016-2019)
SDP Round 1 - 2018  (from :TBL:*) this is the 12th overall pick

I asked for Sparks and that was the asking price. I'm hoping we both make out like bandits in the near future. Both Sparks and Kaprizov are talented kids. Odd how one of my team's former owners had and bought out Sparks a few years back and now I'm bringing him back into the fold.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / San Jose/Minnesota Trade

C :LV::CHI-NHL: Mark Letestu, $1.8m (2017-2020)
D Nate Schmidt, $5.1m (2017-2020)
G Mike Condon, $6.4m (2017-2021)
G Anthony Stolarz, $0.8m (2016-2019-EL)
SDP Round 1 - 2018 (from wild 26th)

:MIN-NHL: receives
LW/RW Jesper Bratt, $1.7m (2017-2020)
D Christian Djoos, $3.9m (2017-2020)
G Anton Forsberg, $13.2m (2017-2022)

My second trade in Franchise NHL and this one gets me some more roster players to fill out my team. Again we're negotiating with a former San Jose owner who might have an edge in the trade talks but I like the direction we're heading in and look forward to more moves to help improve our team.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / San Jose/NYR Trade
« on: April 08, 2018, 01:48:09 AM »
:SJ: receives
LW Scott Hartnell, $3.4m (2016-2019)
D Brenden Dillon, $2.9m (2017-2020)
D Yohann Auvitu, $0.5m (2016-2018)
C Alan Quine, $0.2m (2016-2019-EL)
G - Michael McNiven (2015: UNDRAFTED - 0 Games)
Pick Round 2 - 2018  (from NYR)

FOR

:NYR: receives
C Sean Kuraly, $2.0m (2017-2020)
C - Dillon Dube (2016: 2/56 - 0 Games)
D - Travis Dermott (2015: 2/34 - 0 Games)
Pick Round 4 - 2018  (from SJ; :COL-NHL:*; originally :CAR-NHL:)
SDP Round 2 - 2018  (from SJ; :CAR-NHL:*)

I didn't want to give up Kuraly. He's been good until a recent injury bug hit him as hard as he hits others on the ice. However I really need more NHLers to fill out my roster moving forward. Hartnell and Dillon will bring some much needed scoring. I also am pretty weak in the goalie department so adding another goalie prospect is welcome. I'm hoping the 2nd Round pick will turn out to be a decent NHL prospect in a couple of years.

Patrick Sharp, $4.7m (2017-2020)
$14.1 x 40% = $5.64m

Let's go ahead with that once it's 100% official. Would like to take that as a one time hit.

  • Daddy: If i have 10 top level AA prospects each in the top 10 of the franchise vs one middle of the road pitcher like Cal Quantrill (or pick a guy) which one of those two packages are more valuable?
    May 05, 2024, 02:39:26 PM
  • Daddy: If you think its the AA guys send me a pm.
    May 05, 2024, 02:40:07 PM
  • Daddy: Also... Ive got a nice private island full of beautiful women to sell you. Pay me upfront and i will send you its coordinates. We call it the Virgin Daddy Islands. $5k reserves it for your future.
    May 05, 2024, 02:41:59 PM
  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.
    May 05, 2024, 02:42:54 PM
  • Daddy: Agreed. But most does not equal all.
    May 05, 2024, 02:45:09 PM
  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    May 05, 2024, 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Braves155: But I myself could use some time on a nudie island with some hot women
    May 05, 2024, 02:49:45 PM
  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.
    May 05, 2024, 04:33:51 PM
  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
    May 05, 2024, 04:35:28 PM
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.
    May 05, 2024, 05:15:18 PM
  • Daddy: There shouldn't be many innings available in FA in dynasty fantasy leagues IMO. Thats guaranteed money! To hell with High A ball.
    May 05, 2024, 05:21:23 PM
  • Daddy: Until someone starts a minor league baseball fantasy game or option. Maybe we can petition fantrax? I just dont think they will care for that.
    May 05, 2024, 05:23:07 PM
  • Daddy: Neither should we (so much). Every league i see is MLB.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
    May 05, 2024, 05:57:14 PM
  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
    May 05, 2024, 06:02:39 PM
  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
    May 05, 2024, 06:20:28 PM
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
    May 05, 2024, 06:22:29 PM
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
    May 05, 2024, 06:24:36 PM
  • Brent: I over value minors to a fault, but I am softening on that stance.
