Title: Best and Worst Minor League Rosters
Post by: PsychoticPondGoons on October 30, 2013, 04:44:31 PM
I'm still trying to rebuild my MiLR. It was void of any real talent when I took over last yr.
I traded for a bunch of late picks to try to restock with some late round gems that I hope will pan out in a few seasons.

On a scale of 30 I'd rank my :BAL-NFL: Baltimore Ravens MiLR :BAL-NFL: in the bottom 1/3 of the league. Probably somewhere like 22nd. We've got Tom Wilson and Scott Laughton. After that it's anyone guess who rises to the top and gets promoted.

The GOOD
Took a look around a think teams like :COL-NHL: :NAS: :OTT: :MON-NHL: :FLO: :MIN-NHL: :NJD: :WIN: :CLS: even :CAR-NHL: rank in my top 10 for the list for balance and FNHL-ready prospects.

The UGLY  :puke:
On the flip side, some teams have barely anything left in the cupboard or feature a cast of forgotten nobodies destined for the KHL. LOL
:ANA: harboring 6 players but Ducks have been calling up prospects regularly so it's no wonder
:PHI-NHL: only has 6 guys mostly oldies
:VAN: I don't recognize many players aside from recent draft pk Zach Fucale
:NYR: could've nicknamed their MiLR the "Unknowns" LOL
:PHO: 10 guys mostly names I haven't read about

In other news I think there was a goof on Pat Maroon signing as a FA. He's listed on :PHI-NHL: MiLR
Noticed that while trolling the MiLRs of different teams.

The only fair thing to do is make an outright player drop and delete the contract ASAP.

I looked at those MiLRs and oooh do they need a rebuild.

I completed my MiLR rebuild during my first year when I gutted my roster and traded for a mix of young roster players and prospects. Ah good times.

Maroon thing, just another reason to add the MILR players.

Mine was crap prior to last year.  I feel like it is serviceable now.  Still my best MILR players are pretty much on my roster at this point.

Noted and addressed. P.Maroon has received an outright release from :ANA: roster and contract null and void ($0.4m (2013-2014)) LINK (http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=70456.msg385061#msg385061)

...

:OTT: just got a little better with their recent trade.
:MON-NHL: has a surprisingly good MiLR.
:LAK: would've thought they had more prospects but they've also called up a few really good ones on recent yrs.

I think :STL-NHL: had a great MiLR as well but they've cashed in a bunch of blue chip prospects in the past 2 seasons but they still have a few great kids in their system including Max Domi!

My :FLO: rebuilt the minors back in 2011 when we took over. One of the 1st things I did. We had great prospects to start with including Markstrom, Nick Bjugstad and added from there.

I gotta say :ANA: :VAN: :PHI-NHL: worry me a little but they've all had/have good knowledgeable owners. A few trades here and they will restock their farm system easily... so no sweat!  :toast:

I do wonder about :NYR: MiLR because they've pretty much autopicked the last few drafts and haven't really grabbed the best talent in the various draft classes (aside from 1 or 2 guys). Time will tell what direction they go once they get a new owner but if they're still League Owned next draft be sure we'll actively handpick their MILR prospects in 2014. But I do hope to find them a new owner sooner than later.  :judge:

We don't have that option currently.

If we went that route we could end up de-valuing draft picks. That'd suck.

:SJ: has a very young group in the minors. Sharks MiLR is probably back of the pack in terms of quality simply because they're too young to determine accurate skill level and readiness for the pro game at the highest level.

Saw your minor league roster. It's like the generic label of MiLR. Few high level prospects. Did you call them or trade them away?

Anyone seen :TBL: Bolts' MiLR ... empty!

I think that qualifies for BEST & WORST Minor league system.
Best because they have all the rm they want and can do anything they want to build it up or take on other teams' excess MiLR players. Worst because there's currently zero pipeline for their future nor a cheap source of players.
