The NHL salary cap has been set at $81.5 million for the 2019-20 season according to NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
Therefore the FNHL cap ceiling will be set at $81.5m with a cap floor of $60.2m :judge:

$2million increase in cap is decent but a the 3.5million they discussed back in December at the Winter GM meeting would've been better of course.

Small increase this year. Thought it'd be a big jump up. Guess theyre trying to control spending and create more trade activity throughout the league.
-
My teams could've used the 83M that was projected. Guess the extra 2M will have to do.
-
Itt is a small but fair increase that creates a little financial tensions for most teams in the upcoming season.

At least 5 teams will be grateful for the extra 2 million bills.
-
My Preds and Rangers could've used that extra cash. That's 2 teams right there.

Scratch that. Panthers are only 2million away from the floor. Those Buffalo Sabres need to get to work reaching the floor with a cap gap of $11.5 million close.

We have a plan in Buffa-land! Just been a little busy with other stuff but will be executing on our plan soon enough mate.

I still have 23 million and change. Looking forward to spending it.

TheBeef is loving every moment of carrying $32.8 million in cap space. I hope PPG nails him to a cross and hard when Buffalo doesn't reach the cap floor. haha

 I will have my bag of popcorn ready if and when that happens.

Somehow I doubt the NHL's salary cap ceiling will be decreasing anytime soon. FNHL needs to revisit the extension values to be implemented for the 2020-21 season.

Time to start paying attention to the cap limits for the start of the season.
Below are the penalties for key team roster and cap violations:
Here are a list of penalties for various violations since they have not been spelled out in this league.
(A) Exceeded Minor League Roster Limit (must be correctly immediately) = lose most recent MiLR player additions
note: owners can easily drop excess MiLR players to comply.
(B) Below OR Over Cap (1 week warning in effect after which penalty will be levied) = Lose Highest draft pick or at the discretion of the league commissioner(s) lose a player from active roster or receive $1.0m cap penalty for season if over cap or lose top rated MiLR player.
note: owners need some time to comply but given this is a salary cap league, the penalty must be severe.
(C) Inactive Team (period of unexplained inactivity TBD on a case-by-case basis) = Team will become Profsl League Owned; former owner can apply to be reinstated to FNHL for the next season.
note: commissioner(s) will assume ownership of inactive teams until suitable ownership is found and in some cases former owners will be banned from re-entering FNHL. League owned teams cannot transact with teams owned by commissioners or other temporary owners involved in managing the inactive team.
Other violations and resulting penalty will be addressed in the near future.

:BUF-NHL: Buffalo will be making some moves shortly. We're looking forward to spending our extra cap space.

Great to get the season kicked off. FINALLY!

Been so wrapped up in work I forgot the season started yesterday!
Suddenly realized FNHL was on and jumped on.
Love having the ability to activate a roster player 5mins before the start of each player's game.
Game ON!

Thought we were done when the site went down several days. What's up with that?

For the record, my Sabres have been at $62.7m since our Sept 25th trade with the Wild and are currently at $63.6m with the signing of FA D - Jordan Schmaltz to a $0.9m contract.
Buffalo is cap compliant. :toast: :BUF-NHL: :toast:

So this league always follows the NHL's salary cap floor and ceiling annually, correct?

There's talk of the 2020-21 cap ceiling being in the 82.5 to 83.5 range. Not a huge hike but enough for a similar outcome in the 2020 Free Agency as we had in 2019 with most teams being able to retain their pending FA.
