Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Completed Trades / A's/Brewers Trade
« on: March 03, 2024, 11:18:37 PM »
A's send:

P Will West 5.4m 2025 (:OAK: pays 5.4m 2024)

Brewers send:

P Nick Pivetta ARB (:OAK: accept his ARB of 5.35m)

Last minute deal as sadly cannot make cap work and turn Pivetta into RP depth.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Completed Transactions / Brewers Moves
« on: March 03, 2024, 10:59:28 PM »
Appologies for intial lack of detials and late post as I do not have access computers and my numbers till tomorrow. That said Brewers would like to make following moves and will get numbers update tomorrow.

Extend:

2b Marcus Semien 2 years
2b Jose Altuve 3 years

Accept Arb on

P Shawn Armstrong
P Jordan Roman
P Pedro Avila
P Kyle Finnigan
P Penn Murfee
P Justin Steele
P JP France
P Tom Cosgrove
P Kody Funkerson
P Isaiha Campbell
C Elias Dias
C Daltoun Varsho
3b Tyler Freeman
3b Brett Baty
OF Luke Raley
2b Nickey Lopez (i think my math showed can keep without keeping Pivetta and few others I was considering -  just need to confirm cap tomorrow)

Anyone who is arb/fa and not listed will be let go to FA. Think I should be 37/38 and right around cap limit.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Completed Trades / Brewers/Reds Trade
« on: February 14, 2024, 04:36:19 PM »
Brewers trade:

Nelson Cruz 13m 2026 (retired)
4 Mil in International Funds

Reds Trade:

P Erian Rodriguez Prospect

Dont love moving big funds but saving full on Cruz vs option to put dead cap next few years is worth it for me.

Have big ARB/FA moves coming that will keep me close to full roster so moving Suarez for some future value.

NFL LIVE: Archived Transactions / Re: Buccaneers/Jags Trade

Accept.

Add a quality IDP in Clowney as I plan to be aggresive with cap to fill needs.

ARCHIVE: Invalid Transactions / Re: Buccaneers/Jags Trade

Accept.

Jags are all about defense so Clowney will file a hole and I got plenty of cap to acquire talent this offseason.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Completed Trades / Reds/Brewera Trade
« on: January 23, 2024, 07:10:57 PM »
Brewers Trade:

1B Anthony Rizzo 33m 2024 (5m previously paid)
2B Eduoard Julien
2023 1st (pick 24)

Reds Trade:

P Chris Sale 18m 2026 (:CIN: will pay 9m this year in addition to existing $)
SS Nicky Lopez ARB
P JoJo Romero 700k ARB

Dont love moving Julien but planning to resign my 2B FAs and getting 3 pieces that can hlep along with needed cap savings. Sale always gamble with health but like him to potentially have big year with Braves.

  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.
  • Daddy: Agreed. But most does not equal all.
  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    Today at 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Braves155: But I myself could use some time on a nudie island with some hot women
    Today at 02:49:45 PM
  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.
  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.
  • Daddy: There shouldn't be many innings available in FA in dynasty fantasy leagues IMO. Thats guaranteed money! To hell with High A ball.
  • Daddy: Until someone starts a minor league baseball fantasy game or option. Maybe we can petition fantrax? I just dont think they will care for that.
  • Daddy: Neither should we (so much). Every league i see is MLB.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
    Today at 05:57:14 PM
  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
