Orioles get:
Jake Odorizzi $5m (2019)

Angels get:
Nate Lowe $5m (2022)

Orioles make this deal to get an arm. We thought we had a deal in place for Bieber before but that got shot down. Here the Angels needed a young first baseman and I was after an arm for the stretch so I deal from my depth to get an arm for the rest of the year

Having a breakout pitcher like Odorizzi isn’t very helpful for a 4-9 team. I’ve been going young all year and Lowe is the next step there for me. Hopefully he’s up again soon for :TB:, but either way, his longterm value outweighs the value of Odorizzi for me.

Win-now for BAL with Oro probably not re-signable, and nice future grab for LAA despite the price tag
