Buckets of Dimes: Completed Trades / Jazz and Lakers V2.0
« on: August 01, 2018, 05:32:45 PM »
Jazz send:
SG Donovan Mitchell, $4.0 (2020)
UTA 2019 1st Round Pick

for

Lakers send:
SF Brandon Ingram, $6.5m (2019)
SG Josh Hart, $2.4m (2020)

Agreed, I get two of my most wanted players and with LJ there I think they will blow up. Not fun to lose Don-Mitch, but that 2019 1st I hope to be late teens. So all in all I got IT2, Ingram, Hart for Don-Mitch, 2019 2, 2019 1, and 2018. I just re-did my team in 3 trades. I got youth and lower end deals. These deals plus my drops now just made me relevant in FA and I got some of my fav players, freed cap, and got younger in some ways. This deal sets my team up for what I want to do. Thanks again for easy talks brother.

Agreed. I get IT2 a solid G with a great spot with his current team to get back to MVP form. I just cleared some space so I can take on his deal, and if he pans out thats easy money for his level of production. I take the low-risk high-reward option here.

Thanks for the easy talks WCE

I agree. Overall I will save about 10MM in cap or around there for this year. I was currently over the cap by 5MM this will finally get me under. Its never easy to lose a guy who should be around a top-20 player at his position, but I have faith Nurkic can get there. Plus, Swanigan and Harkless should slot in well with my team and Baldwin was a nice add. This was a bit more about making space, but I also got several guys I like. This deal allows me to make the following deal when it happens. I will need to do some work in FA and still need to make a few more moves before its all said and done. This team should not be 5MM over the cap, Jazz are still middle-ground on what to do, but with current cap vs talent, a rebuild might be on the horizon.

Ya I do like removing two teams from each conference, then having a FA or draft for the left over players.

  • Daddy: @Alpha if a team in MLB LIVE has two starting 1Bs then there is also a team without one.
  • ldsjayhawk: @jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe.  I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade.  Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for.  I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

  • ldsjayhawk: @Alpha I do make trades.  I am just not giving up the entire farm to land a guy I can get out of the FA pool

  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.
  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).
