This one net our trade partner a potential starting goalie in Nilsson while we retool some area we feel need some attention and give us some flexibility into the season. EG to confirm.

:veto:
I don’t understand the logic behind this trade at all. Nilsson is a 30 year old career backup who’s never played 30 games in a season. Why is he all of a sudden going to seize the starting job from Anderson? Lyons is a 26 year old third string goalie on a team with the best goalie in the league. I’m not usually that guy but this is awful for Anaheim

:iatp: Ducks accept. We want to make this deal to get a possible starter for the Senators. Craig Anderson is 38year old. Nilsson is 29 and challenging for the starting job and has a good contract for the potential he brings of being a 1A or 1B. Alex Lyon is prospect I believe in who was excellent in the NCAA and looking for a shot in the NHL.

:iatp: One man's trash is another man's treasure. Ducks don't have any goalies so if they feel this gets them some points in that position then it's worth what it's worth. I checked the stats and Nilsson racked up a hair under 200 points while Galchenyuk posted a touch over 100pts. Skaters are easier to find than goalies. Also, a 6th doesn't guarantee a superstar, just look at the prospect on the Duck's roster by the name of Puljujarvi. Overall I'm OK with this deal.
-
:iatp: Perhaps not a trade I'd make but each owner builds their own way. Good to see the Ducks on the board again.

:iatp:
I like this more for NY than for Anaheim we'll see what Nilsson does this year.
-
:iatp: Like most trades this one's a gamble and I think there's concrete grounds to believe a 28yo will take over the reins in the Sens net unseating the 39yo Craig Anderson.
-
:iatp: I'm OK with this deal. Each owner values assets differently as we've all seen.
