Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / Angels/Yankees Deal
« on: May 17, 2011, 11:24:35 PM »
Angels Trade:

SP Sabathia, CC, $23m (2015)Pay 5M of CC Contarct this year only
CI-OF Hinske, Eric, $0.5m (2011)

For

OF Wells, Vernon, $18m (2014)
P Rogers, Esmil, $1.5m (2012)

Well don't care too much for big contracts but i did save a little cap in the long run by trading Sabathia.Yes i got Wells but i would rathe take my chances with wells than Sabathia as i do need outfielders.I think wells will come back and do well.Picking up Rogers is nice as he is young and i think good potential. Not going to win anything this year cause of what i inherited but i'm going to try to get better with my team, who knows if these trades will work out but i like this one

Franchise GM: Invalid Transactions / Angels Plan
« on: April 09, 2011, 03:25:45 PM »
I do have a plan for the Angels.

1.Cut salary down as best as i can.
2.Trade all the pitching that has been acquired by previous owners (have no clue why) and get what good players i can,but if no one on other teams wants to trade me for them well not much i can do about that.
3. There are a few dead salaries right now so these players need to be dropped.
4.Acquire some young talent to make club strong in coming years but not so much as to take away from being cellar dwellers for years to wait till talent matures.

I can only work with people that can and will work with me to obtain the talent i need to compete.
They have to want some of the pitchers i have and a couple of bats i have to trade and try to get better.
The only other way is to build thru FA and that can be a slow process.

I will tell you i am a firm believer that it takes to many years sometimes to wait for talent to be big league ready and you do not get points accumulated for that in fantasy sports, you win by fielding good players and acquiring talent that can be major league ready.Sometimes prospects work out and sometimes they don't so i do not like to gamble with that.

In other words if i have a major league player that accumulates points for my team and i trade him, don't offer me a couple of unknowns that may accumulate points in the future, give me a player that gets points now even if that player is 30 years old and in the twilight of his career,he stills gets points.

Since somebody else did this to the club it is not my fault as myself as an owner would have never done this.
it can not be done over night.I will not tear it down the rest of the way and get possible young players that may or may not make it to the show.

I will take what other owners offer me for my pitching and decide if it's worth it or not.
That's about all i can do.

Everyone knows i'm active and have never gave up one team since i joined here.I love all my teams no matter what, and i will take care of the team the best i can.

Dave tarheels55

Also, there is nothing i can do about Sabathia and Santana's salaries as the jerks that bought these or traded for these are insane. 45 MILLION PER YEAR WOW.Santana i hope will be back this year.

This is all i have to say about it,thank you

  • Daddy: My comment on the real Wolves are if they win a chip then there is no such things as bad contracts. The point of all contracts are to win Championships.

  • Daddy: Can you imagine a league(s).  Where EVERY player that becomes a professional has value.. and 30-32 teams have 30-32 different people are actively determining that value?
  • Daddy: Where you dont wait for trades to happen on scoring sites or SS updates and the only thing asked of you is to run your own franchise and see how good you are. On an EVEN playing field.
  • Daddy: Its already near impossible to get into NFL LIVE. We had to start up a 64 team league just to accommodate the waiting list. True Story.
  • Daddy: Once full. NBA, NHL, & NCAAs will be very difficult to get into. People dont just walk away from LIVE often and when they do... They usually want back in. Legit dont miss your team in your sports. Get them while you can.
