Pierce2378 : As far as I am concerned, your selection of Tommy LaStella is invalid .
Replies # 361 and 362 were "notices" that you had an Opportunity to make a
selection within the authorized time period, which in your "situation" covered a
24 hr time period . Since a Round gets completed about every 11-12 days, I
project your next time to make an authorized selection would most likely be
on Thanksgiving Day .

Looks like the "Final" Decision should be up to Kenny !?

Houston's 12 hr time limit has expired ; however, because of Kenny's "new" rule,
the time to select a player is extended until the Oakland A's select a player.

Oakland A's now on the clock .

Hey,

Its your guys' league but I am new here.  I said i subscribed to the thread - i never received anything over the weekend so maybe i did something wrong.  I also assumed i would get a PM from the draft maestro.  I got neither.  Nobody has picked after me so i dont see how there is any harm here.  Not to mention that it would make a lot more sense to accomodate those that actually are making an effort in this draft than those that have done nothing.

We dont have a GM for the A's as of yet.  Kenny will need to make the pick unless he has found someone to take them over.

10 rounds, at least.

"The draft will last a minimum of 10 rounds. It will continue until all organizations forfeit their picks or until the
following March, whichever is earlier."

This was posted in the wrong location by leppardkev (under transactions, but not under draft):

If I do get to take over Oakland, my first pick will be;

2   66   Quinn, Roman   OF   15/08/2011   Port St. Joe, FL

Just putting it out there, have a good one.

Have seen no definite word from Kenny that he has "accepted"
leppardkev as the new Oakland GM, even though he applied
Nov 9,  so .......

Oakland's 12 hr time limit has expired ; however, because of Kenny's "new" rule,
the time to select a player is extended until the NY Mets select a player.

NY Mets now on the clock .

Have just finished reading Kenny's Leave of Absence Post that leppardkev is the new
Oakland GM . Therefore his Post that he selects Roman Quinn, OF, Port St Joe, Fl is
considered a valid selection . Hopefully, his future selection(s) will be posted in this
Draft "topic" !?

  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.

  • Daddy: Agreed. But most does not equal all.

  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.

  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development

  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen

  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
    May 05, 2024, 06:20:28 PM
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
    May 05, 2024, 06:22:29 PM
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
