Extensions for 2010 - 2011, do i have to sing my players by feb 28? as the actual contract does not end yet. Wanting clarification

Yes you have to sign them by Feb. 28 but the players will not be released until the end of the season if they are not re-signed.

If I resign players now like stamkos, purcell, niemi would put me over the cap, but their actual contract does not end until the end of the 2010-2011 season, I do not see the point of signing extensions now.

If I were to extend Stamkos Purcell Niemi for nest season I would be under the cap

Yes I see, but I have already started doing it that way for everyone, so I will have to continue at least till the end of the season. Then there can be a rule edit.

The max minor league roster is 10, so if you send someone down of course they will affect the size of your roster. So if you already have 10 players, you will have to buy someone out or place someone on re-entry waivers to make room for the player being sent down.

Sorry no relief, you can use the waivers system to save cap space but it is just luck of the draw that players get hurt long-term. Sending them down subjects them to claims both ways though.
