Gourde at $4.1M for 5 years.

Rangers still looking to trade veterans.

Brock Nelson, Ryan Johansen, Jacob Markstrom among top players left.

Will retain partial or full salary to maximize assets coming back.

Will also take on your bad contracts to get a deal finalized.

NY Rangers retaining salary for prospects/picks so in other words you sign a FA for well below market value (or get them entirely free!)

C Logan Couture (2yrs remaining $6.0)
C Ryan Johansen (1yr remaining $5.5)
C Brock Nelson (4yrs remaining $6.9)
LW Andreas Athanasiou (2yrs remaining $3.8)
RW Keegan Kolesar (2yrs remaining $2.0)

Will retain 50%-100% salary on the above players to close a deal.


Will retain 100% salary on players below (you get them at $0 cap hit!)

G Martin Jones (1yr remaining - will retain 100% salary)
G Semyon Varlamov (1yr remaining - will retain 100% salary)


Will also be a facilitator and trade for your bad contracts and salary cap dumps.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
