0.66 x 11.2 = 7.39 -> $7.4m buy-out fee
Pay it all this year on the 2019-2020 cap

Hope he can put his concussion issues behind him, but don't see him as more than a 4th liner on this Canucks squad the way they're playing plus the coach doesn't seem to like him too much.

Dude's got a partially torn hamstring. He's not "out for the season" thankfully but the season also goes till April.

They say he's out "weeks, but not months." What's the threshold for LTIR for being out?
Just looking for a roster spot so could slide Couture to LTIR and Gio to IR.

Longterm Injured Reserve
Each team will have one Longterm IR slot.  Players on LTIR do not count against the cap.  LTIR is intended for players who are expected be out for an extended period of time: at least 10 games or 24 days.  Once a player on LTIR is healthy and back to NHL action they may remain on LTIR until the end of the current season, at which point all LTIR players who are healthy will be added back to their teams 30 man roster.

He's missed 3 games, will be 4 and 5 Wed/Thurs. Don't expect him to be back 5 games after that but I guess I don't know anything in the grand scheme of things.

@ Rob: Gio can go to IR and Couture to LTIR if Gio is the hold-up.

I will process the buyout and moving Couture to LTIR with Giordano to IR. 

We could assume Giordano will be out longer, but with nothing official that would be a bit flippant to the rules.
