Mariners receive
SP Hamels, Cole, $14.5m (2016)   $14.5m   $14.5m   $14.5m
Phillies agree to pay Hamels in full for 2014, and $10m per year in 2015 and 2016.

Phillies receive:
OF Piscotty, Stephen, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Glasnow, Tyler, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Mariners do this to pick up another solid SP in our push to make a playoff run this year.

Seattle uses our best asset to get multiple pieces we like and a few that should improve us right away and help with a playoff run this season.
