Title: Poll: New Scoring System for 2015
Post by: chrisetc21 on January 17, 2014, 02:24:22 PM
Jeremy with the Phillies has put together a spreadsheet with 4 different scoring comparisons using last season's point totals.  The first uses last seasons scoring system with the addition of defense for pitchers.  The second is the Fangraphs system Nick posted with a slight adjustment in the value of a save and last year's AFB defensive numbers.  The third is last year's AFB scoring system with the defense replaced by the system Jeremy posted back in October.  The fourth is a combination of Fangraphs scoring and Jeremy's defensive system.   Please give it a look over and vote for your selection.  We will have a new scoring system, we cannot proceed with the current system as the player values are just out of whack.

Looks like option four is going to take the prize here.  We'll have this scoring system in place for the 2015 season.  Thanks to Jeremy with the Phillies for all his work in putting this together for us to discuss and vote on.

Happy to do it, playing with the numbers was somewhat therapeutic.

Voting is now locked.  Option four passes and will be implemented for the 2015 season.  Thanks.
