The Ripper and his Blues are just flat out study. Rip makes "I'm trying to win the chip trades", an admirable trait in any fantasy format imo.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: Ottawa's deal with the Champ (Kings)« on: January 10, 2017, 11:04:44 PM »The new GMs need to have staying power to catch the top teams. 3 years ago (going on 4) I was a new GM. It takes about 2 years to see dividends pay off. Prospects are my pet peave, and dealing away proven NHL talent for guys in the OHL, AHL, and KHL is risky at best imo. I would never do it personally. That said, if the new GMs have a vision, along with the testicular fortitude to see it thru, then teams can grow and GMs can prove themselves. In a 30-31 team league, there is no building the "Super Team". ""There are only so many players that can give you NHL stats"" and we don't give bonus points for AHL stats nor do we give out $ for top farm. Jonathan's formula in Edmonton has been years in the making and will pay off soon but most GMs in fantasy do not have that kind of patience or forsight. All that said, Looks like a healthy return here, good combo of NHL/AHL. I hope the specs contribute for the Sens as well as the other teams that invest heavily in minor leaguers. 5354
Franchise NHL / Re: Tough Luck Season: Tampa Bay« on: January 10, 2017, 09:44:38 PM »
Got Abdelkader back and word is Ben Bishop is coming back this week.
Maybe this is the start of something big. After my first 0-4 week of the year (maybe even ever) some of my guns are getting cleared. To this point, I don't even know how good we are. If Niemi can play like he belongs in the NHL, Big Ben is certified. Thank God Vasilevskiy has played like Vaseline in the crease. Whenever Stamkos arrives to carry his team...we may be a force late. The goal now? Just get into the playoffs. If what's left of the Bolts can hold onto a 7 or 8 seed, we will scare the chit out of the team we face. Next year, maybe the black cat finds Florida, Boston, or someone other than good ol Tampa. Stay tuned. 5355

Franchise NHL / Re: SOLD - ENDGAME BUYS SENS (PRICE $100USD)« on: January 09, 2017, 03:29:43 AM »As the Sens were the first team I owned in FNHL it was a difficult decision to put them up for sale. A lot of time went into tailoring the franchise to my strategy. This year it was not where I wanted it to be and perhaps the pressures of fantasy, work and life did not mesh well so I felt it would be in the best interest of the league to let someone new assume control of the once proud Ottawa franchise. I am still proud to be among the oldest members of this league and hope to be here for the long haul.Honorable DD. Probably feels like I would feel selling Good to infuse new blood and fresh ideas to a tenured league. Soon to be 31 teams and we fight for scraps in FA. Every trade made is done with a purpose or vision. Having 11 guys out in fantasy and watching my Flyers floundering around in real life would take the luster off of my NHL season, but then there is FNHL saving my interests and providing entertainment. 5358
