I understand the desire to have a league where every team is completive but sometimes a team is just going to suck, and punishing them by taking away Draft picks is only going to make them worse

For example, Houston will suck this year.  I'll try to make them not suck, but they'll still suck.

Guys, we had teams roster only like one or two players who played on purpose.  I don't have the figures but this is a fact.  Sucking and tanking are two totally different things.

A minimum salary requirement should help prevent tanking. Also, non-playoff teams could be placed in a lottery so that losing does not ensure them of the top pick. Or, the winner of a losers bracket amongst non-playoff teams could be played during the playoffs to determine the top choice.

As long as u are not running a full minor league team then u should be ok. To solve the whole issue limit amount of times a team can get the 1st rd pick.

This is like beating a dead horse. The existing rule already took care of this. As far as “penalizing” a bad team by taking away draft picks...well the bar is intentionally set so low that the only way you could have draft picks taken away is if you intentionally fielded almost an entire roster of players who accrued zero points. Even a few mediocre players is enough to meet the criteria and there is ZERO reason any team can’t do at least that given salary cap space and their minors. The previous rule introduced a year or two ago achieved the result of NOT penalizing “sucky” teams while making sure no team had an entire roster of zeros to ensure first pick (which did happen previously)

It feels like we are just starting to make/change rules in this league for the sake of making change.
