Franchise GM: Invalid Transactions / Re: Old Trading Blocks
« on: November 20, 2009, 10:40:37 AM »
The Cardinals are not actively shopping anyone at the present time.  We continue to rebuild and are looking for good young players and prospects.  Would consider a package including an overpriced player and a top prospect or possibly draft picks.  Please PM offers.

Looks like I was having a bad day.
Rick Ankiel $0.5/2 years
Joel Pineiro $12.0/1 year

Ankiel's best ranking of 113 puts him at a $0.5 market value.
Franklin's signed.  :judge:
Thurston signed.  :judge:
Ludwick signed.  :judge:
Pineiro's #19 ranking would earn him $11m/year
Thompson signed.  :judge:

Rick Ankiel's contract changed to $0.5/2 years.  I looked at pitcher salaries before rather than outfielder salaries.

Joel Pineiro's contract is $11.0/1 year.  Should be right unless he has to be signed for 5 years.  If so, he will be released to free agency.

Trade confirmed.  The Cardinals need to build an at present non-existent farm system.  We are sacrificing this season in order to be competitive in the future.  Other veterans are available.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development

  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen

  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
    May 05, 2024, 06:20:28 PM
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
