This has been brought up multiple times, and at least once by me, but I would like to propose to eliminate seperate ECHL and Experienced Players teams on fantrax and just add them to their respective teams minor roster. This is purely an aesthetic change and doesn't change any rules. Eliminating an extra step to have a player called up/down will speed up transactions, and make it easier for teams to keep on eye on their own minor league players approaching the 40 game threshold.
If there's no opposition in the next day or two, jmtrops and I will start to make that transition on fantrax.
Thoughts?

So we could call and send down players from our main rosters daily?

the rules that are in place still apply. you still have players under 2 way contracts that you can move back and forth but not the other unsigned prospects. and you still have to post it every time when you move the 2 way guys up and down.

ok I see. This would be great
There would have to some new rule in place. (For Example - only so many moves in a certain amount of days or... a player can only be moved once in 72 hours.)
Or you will have people moving player up and down daily.

last year I did a little of that. I had a group of 4 guys that I move in and out and posted it each time. since I told them I would be doing this they did not adjust the roster speadsheet each time and I didnt really do it all that much because they were just not that productive so there really was not a benifit to do it a lot. mostly the 1 or 2 that was playing the best I just left in the NHL. if it looks like it is a problem we can address it with a max # of moves per matchup, I would think this is something fantrax can do?

We've already had our two way players on our main fantrax rosters. This aesthetic change only affects ECHL players and experienced minor leaguers, which would still need a contract to be moved out of the minors. The worry on these guys would be GMs starting players and leaving them in their starting line up while technically being in the minors. I trust members in this league not to cheat, but we can place pentalties in place for GMs caught doing it (essentually to save us from ourselves).
To your point about two way players being moved in and out daily, that's something that could have already happened (see jmtrops reply). That's a whole other issue entirely. 90% of the time if a GM has the salary and roster space, there's no reason to keep a two-way guy in the minors, and this is a non-issue there. The other 10% of the time as trops highlighted, if you had more two-way players than you had roster spots, you can do this daily flip flop as a loophole in the rules. We can bring this up seperatley if we think this is an issue.

You guys can do it anyway you want.
Just thought it would be a good idea to address a possible loophole before it becomes a problem.

here is what I copied from the rules and I reworded it for what we are talking about doing except the penalty is unchanged from our current rule.
Beginning in 2020-21 season, all prospects and minor league players will be available on our fantrax team roster for ease of managing our roster. Only players signed to 2 way contracts can be moved up and down from the minors but must be first called up via a post on the Backyard Transaction board.
Any GM found to be using an minor league player in an illegal manner (those not signed to 2 way contracts or with no post on the Backyard Transaction board will be penalized as follows:
1st violation - Lost of that week's match-up & official penalty on roster
2nd violation - Lost of that week's match-up, forfeit of lowest remaining draft pick, & official penalty on roster
3rd violation - Same as above with a lost of an additional draft pick (lowest remaining)
4th violation - Removal from the league

:iatp: It will make it easier to follow players in the minors. Good idea.
