One year BO of a contract through 2015-2018 goes against which seasons salary? 16-17 or 17-18

Post Cup Final April into June.

If 16-17, Do I have to stay under the original salary or the extended salary.

My confusion lies with recent posts indicating this is still 16-17 calendar.

We are currently still in 2016-17.
Contracts extended  after the Finals wrap up are postdated for the 2017-18 season... this yr the deadline to resign expiring players is June 30 17h00 ET.

All this goes against 16-17?  Would I face a penalty for exceeding $73m or $80.3m?

Team cant use their 10% offseason overage to BO players. Put another way, no penalty ... it just wouldnt be allowed as a BO.

One more question since I see Parayko on the Exempt list for the expansion draft.

Is JH also exempt?  John Gaudreau, $0.2m (2014-2017-EL)

You're correct, Parayko is exempt, as his contract started in or after 2015. Gaudreau is not exempt.

Yes but they get updated after the contract roll over in mid-August of the 2017-18 season. You can post now, takes effect later.

ok seeing this is my first for fa if a player has a bid forr 11.5m is that per yr? or is that say 5 yrs @2.3m per yr
