Title: Tough Luck Season: Tampa Bay
Post by: PsychoticPondGoons on December 28, 2016, 01:35:57 PM
This has to be the worst luck I've seen in a while in FNHL.

Daddy's Bolts trade for a franchise player Steven Stamkos to get the season rolling.
He's got the horses to get to the front of the pack in 2016-17 and he's on cruise control early and fast!

Then Tampa Bay decides they're not a hockey team but a hospital. LOL

Steven Stamkos, $6.3m (2016-2021-FP-8.4 :TBL:)
Blown knee out 3 months

Ben Bishop, $8.4m (2016-2021-FP-11.1 :TBL:)
The other Franchise Player, LBI out 1-2 months

Justin Abdelkader, $3.9m (2016-2019)
Knee, out 2 months

Justin Faulk, $6.8m (2016-2020)
LBI out 1/2 month

Reilly Smith, $2.6m (2015-2018)
Another big trade addition Out with Concussion 1 month

That's like someone ripping the spine out of the Bolts.
But the team is still TOP 10!

The injury bug is the Great Unknown that can tank a team's season.

Carey Price was knocked out early and long in 2015-16... tanked our season. Hoping to make up for lost time in 2016-17. :win:

Yeah it's been like an old episode of mash.
No whining about it though. Injuries are part of the game.
Makes it an even bigger challenge to remain playoff relevant.

Let's get it :TBL:

Dropping faster than a strippers bikini top in the face of $100 bill.

Dropping like a LA Rams receiver wide open in the red zone.

Dropping like bird poop on your freshly washed automobile.

Dropping like Papps after a 25 second jog up his driveway.

This ship is sinking. Best to drink away our misfortune

Never feel bad for Daddy's Bolts.

Hey, my cats lost O'Reilly a key star and we have been dealing with our fair share of injuries. All part of sports, fantasy or real life.

Fittingly two of the 3 Golden Knights acquired through trade are also on IR (the third player is in the minors).

Combined with The Rams, 76ers, Phillies,  and even our beloved Flyers...I am feeling like the sports God's have forsaken me.

Tonight I sacrifice a live offering.  :koolaid:

Hopefully fortunes abound.

Got Abdelkader back and word is Ben Bishop is coming back this week.

Maybe this is the start of something big. After my first 0-4 week of the year (maybe even ever) some of my guns are getting cleared.

To this point, I don't even know how good we are. If Niemi can play like he belongs in the NHL, Big Ben is certified. Thank God Vasilevskiy has played like Vaseline in the crease.

Whenever Stamkos arrives to carry his team...we may be a force late. The goal now? Just get into the playoffs. If what's left of the Bolts can hold onto a 7 or 8 seed, we will scare the chit out of the team we face.

Next year, maybe the black cat finds Florida, Boston, or someone other than good ol Tampa.

Stay tuned.
