NHL does not rip up contracts if that helps

If nobody has that player in their minor league roster, you need to place a free agent bid on that player. He will then go to your full time roster.

You will not have an option to place him in the minors... at least that's my understanding.

what is the date when 2011-12 buyouts on a team's books get dropped/removed?

is it at the end of the Franchise NHL playoffs April 8th?
june 25th the day after a team's pending free agents were to be signed (june24th)?
june 30th the day before the July 1st start of free agency?
OR is it another date that is not currently post?

is it the day after the Franchise NHL finals are completed April 8th,9th?
or is it another date?

i poked around and didn't see it listed anywhere at this time.
